A mobile-first web payment experience designed to guide users toward the mobile app while still enabling fast and secure invoice payment directly on the web
The payment experience needed to drive app adoption without degrading usability or conversion for users paying through mobile web.
The design incorporated parallel app and web flows, gently encouraging app usage while maintaining a fast and frictionless web payment experience.
The experience increased mobile app downloads while receiving positive user feedback on payment clarity and usability
The design process focused on creating a mobile-first payment experience that balances business goals around app adoption with user expectations for speed, trust, and simplicity. Decisions were driven by user research, real-world payment behaviors, and iterative validation.
Understanding business goals, technical constraints of the payment gateway, and success criteria for both web payments and app adoption. This phase defined the balance between conversion, usability, and product growth.
Interviewing existing system clients and users of similar payment solutions to identify the most common payment flows, expectations, and friction points. Insights from these conversations shaped priorities around clarity, trust signals, and decision moments in the flow.
Mapping key user journeys for both app and mobile web payments based on research findings. This step focused on simplifying decision points, reducing friction, and clearly supporting both paths without forcing users into a single outcome.
Designing clear screen hierarchy, messaging, and interaction patterns optimized for mobile browsers. Special attention was given to transparency, payment confidence, and seamless transitions between web and app flows.
Creating a clean, trustworthy visual design aligned with fintech usability standards. Interactive prototypes were used to validate clarity, speed, and perceived effort across different devices and scenarios.
Testing the experience with stakeholders and users, refining flows based on feedback, and preparing detailed design specifications for development. Iterative improvements ensured both web conversion and app adoption goals were met.
